Boys House League

Boys House League (Grades 3-8)

The Boys House Program consists of three groups (3/4th graders, 5/6th graders, and 7/8th graders). This league is open to any current 2009-2010 member of Wakeman.  Players of all levels are welcome.  This season begins in late April and runs through mid June (with evaluations taking place in between March 22nd and April 9th).

Equipment Required: Stick, Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Arm Pads, Rubber cleats, and Mouth guard.  Protective cups will also be mandatory. Game jerseys and shorts provided.

THIRD and FOURTH GRADE    $140
This group is organized in a strictly in-house FUN instructional setting that strives on teaching fundamentals and the rules of the game. The goal is to provide an enjoyable learning experience based on having fun and skill improvement OVER competition. Players will be split into teams and each team will practice once a week in the evening and play a weekend In-House game. Wakeman will be experimenting and implementing 7 on 7 formats for all games throughout the season for this age level. More information and details regarding this format will be out in February.
Dates:    Detailed information will be announced in mid-February. Team practices will begin the week of April 19th and conclude the week of June 7th. Each team will practice once a week.
Games Day/Time:    Sunday Mornings between 10:30am & 2:15pm. Each game will be one hour long. Site TBD
Game Dates:    April 25th, May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, June 6th, 13th (make up June 20th). (No Game on 5/30 due to Memorial Day weekend).
Team/League Size:    Approximately 6 teams of 22-25 players
Fee:    $140 Includes jerseys/shorts

Evaluations: Will be taken during the three weeks between March 22nd and April 9th. The first week of evaluations will be for beginners to discuss rules of the game in addition to teaching the fundamentals of the game.  Weeks two and three of evaluations will be for intermediate to advanced players. Detailed information will be announced in mid-February. Times are TBD. 
**Players must attend one evaluation.

FIFTH AND SIXTH GRADE    $140
This program allows for members to play lacrosse and also still participate in other spring sports. The goal is to provide an opportunity for plenty of instruction, fundamentals, practice and game time in a fun atmosphere. Players will be split into 4-6 teams depending on number of participants. Each team will practice once a week in the evening and play a Saturday In-House game. Travel players will not be permitted to participate in the in-house program.

Practices:    Detailed information will be announced in mid-February. Team practices will begin the week of April 19th and conclude the week of June 7th. Each team will practice once a week.
Game Day/Time:    Saturdays, Game will be played at Wakeman; times vary between 9:00am and 1:30pm.
Game Dates:    April 24th, May 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, June 5th, 12th (make up June 19th).  (No Game on 5/29 due to Memorial Day weekend).   
Game Site:    Field TBD.

SEVENTH AND EIGHTH GRADE    $140
Wakeman will offer In-House Lacrosse for 7th & 8th grade boys. Lacrosse is becoming very popular in Fairfield and in surrounding towns. This program is open to ALL members. This program encourages first time players of all levels to learn, practice and improve their skills.

Practices:    Detailed information will be announced in mid-February. Team practices will begin the week of April 19th and conclude the week of June 7th. Each team will practice once a week.
Game Day/Time:     Sundays between 4:00pm-7:00pm.
Game Dates:     April 25th, May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, June 6th, 13th (make up June 20th).  (No Game on 5/30 due to Memorial Day weekend).
Team/League Size:     Approximately 4-6 teams of about 22 players
Fee:     $140 Includes jersey/shorts

FOURTH GRADE EXTRA LAX    $65 (additional fee)
Extra LAX will be offered to fourth grade boys in an effort to expose them to more lacrosse. Wakeman hopes to have a 6 team 150 player In-House league in operation. This added group of boy’s attendance and participation with their In-House teams is a must to be included in this group. This team will be available to the first 24 players to sign up. Participants must be in fourth grade. Participants must have also participated in the program as a third grader. Player must be able to commit to one additional practice a week and additional scrimmage/jamboree dates.
