LACROSSE TRYOUTS

The 8th grade boys travel make-up date from last weekend's cancellation has been moved to Monday, March 8th from 6:15-8:00 at the Ludlowe High School turf field.

The 6th grade boys travel make-up date from last weekend's cancellation will be this Friday, March 5th from 6:15-8:00 at the Ludlowe High School turf field.

This year Boys Travel Lacrosse will consist of four grade levels, each as a separate Travel team. Travel boys lacrosse requires a serious commitment. The program will feature one team (for each grade level) of experienced players that will play as a member in the CONNY Lacrosse League. Registration numbers for the spring lacrosse will dictate whether we have any additional teams at the travel level. The program will provide an ample amount of practice and game time focused on skill improvement and team camaraderie. Each team will practice twice a week, play a 10-12 game schedule and participate in the end-of-the-year CONNY Lacrosse Tournament. 

Eligibility: Any Wakeman member who is also a resident of the town of Fairfield. If you are a resident of a town other than Fairfield which already has a lacrosse program you are not eligible to participate on a Wakeman Travel Team. If the town you reside in does not have a lacrosse program, you must be a member of Wakeman for at least one year before participating in the travel program.

Tryouts: Participants who would like to play travel this season must take part in the tryouts.  Tryouts this season will take place between the weeks of February 22nd - March 12th.  Specific dates and times will be sent out to parents in early February.

Practice:     Times and Site TBA         
Games:    Games will be scheduled at various times on weeknights and weekends (10-12 game schedule).
Team Size:     18-23 players per team
Fee:     $220  Includes the travel tryout fee, a uniform and membership to US Lacrosse (if form is filled out and handed in). The In-house fee of $140 along with a $10 travel tryout fee must be initially paid with mail in registration. Players that are selected to the travel team will be responsible to pay the remaining $70.  Players that tryout but do not make the travel team will have a spot in the in house program. No refunds will be given after tryouts.
 

 

Saturday's, February 27th - 8th grade and 6th grade tryouts have been postponed.  Make-up dates will be announced on Monday.

A decision about Sunday's tryouts will be posted on the site by 12:00 on Sunday
