GIRLS JUNIOR BASKETBALL

Girls Junior Basketball    Grades 6-8        $80   

 MAIL IN REGISTRATION-POSTMARK ON OR AFTER AUGUST 5TH
Girls will be split into two separate leagues.  One league is for 6th grade girls and another for 7th & 8th grade girls.  Teams willb coached by volunteer coaches who have successfully completed the Wakeman Coaches Certification course.  Course dates are listed in the book.  Each team willbe given one hour of gym tim during the week for practice and play an eight game schedule (dates lsited below).  every girl who is accepted in the program willbe assigned a team based on skill evaluation.  Evaluations of the players' ability and size are used to make the teams balanced 9this is not a tryout).  Evaluation dates are lsited below.   Team roster/pracitce time placement willbe posted at www.wakemanclub.com by Saturday September 4th.  Program begins September 7th!

All teams begin practice the week of September 6th.

For the eighth year, 6th grade girls will participate in a program sponsored by Boys & Girls Club of America
called Quick SMART! This is a prevention program to help young athletes deal with the decisions and pressures
to use alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. The program will also discuss the effects on their athletic performances.
More detailed information will be sent out at registration.  Practice will begin the week of September 6th.

Game dates: Saturdays, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30 and 11/6.
Grade 6 will likely play at 3:15, 4:30, 5:45 or 7:00. Grades 7/8 will likely play at 2:15, 3:30, 4:45, 6:00 or 7:15.
