Girls Travel Lacrosse

Girls Travel (Grades 5/6th & 7/8th)

One 5ht/6th and one 7th/8th lacrosse team will be formatted for experienced players who are able to make a 3 or 4 day a week commitment. The team will give the girls an opportunity to concentrate, learn, and improve their skills in a focused, but in a fun atmosphere.  Teams will play games and participate in jamborees against other towns. The coaches will expect full committment! Players will tryout for a spot on these teams. Players that are not selected will have a spot reserved in the In-House Program.

Eligibility: Individuals can only play travel lacrosse at Wakeman if the player is a resident of Fairfield. If the participant does not a have a lacrosse program in ther twon they reside, then they would be eligible to play travel at Wakeman.  That player must receive a written release from their town director to be presented by Wakeman to the CONNY Board. The CONNY Board must approve the release (which is not guaranteed.) This CONNY process is done on a player to player basis, not as a program. Wakeman does not make the final rulings, CONNY does.

Dates: March-June

Practices: 5th/6th Grade Team: Times and Site will be announced
                 7th/8th Grade Team: Times and Site will be announced

Probable Games: Game times will vary each week with games during the week and on the weekends between March and June.

Team Size: Each team will have between 20-24 players.

Tryouts: For experienced girls; February 27th to March 31st.
***All players must attend 2 of 3 tryouts.

Fee: $200 includes team shirt, shorts, and US Lacrosse Membership.

The In-House Fee of $125 must be paid initially with mail-in registration. Players are selected to travel teams will be responsible to pay the remaining $75. Players that try out, but do not make the team will have a spot in the In-House Program. No refunds will be given after tryouts.
