Why I like Wakeman

Wakeman Boys & Girls Club - Stratfield Clubhouse celebrated Lights on Afterschool with a variety of activities ranging from mural painting, making light bulb-shaped cupcakes and a writing prompt.  The writing prompt was, "Why I like Wakeman."  Here are some of our responses below.

"I like Wakeman because it has all my favorite sports and all of my favorite friends." - Dana, 4th grade

"I like Wakeman because I like to play in the game room.  I also love playing kickball in the gym.  My favorite thing to do at Wakeman is the kitchen because I like making things.  I think it is fun to go here afterschool instead of staying at home." - Heather, 4th grade

"Wakeman means a lot to me because all of my friends are here and there are fun things to do like play soccer, cook, watch movies.  I am very grateful for Wakeman.  It's very helpful because there's a schedule and a period for every grade so it gets me prepared for middle school." - Aidan, 5th grade

"There are plenty of things.  I love to go to the kitchen.  I think it is fun to go here after school.  Everyone that comes here looks happy.  I like baking things." - Nicole, 5th grade

"I think Wakeman is a place where kids can relax, have fun and play.  If kids have to do their homework, there is a nice and quite place for them to do it." - Sophia, 5th grade
