Your Feedback!

I thought the program was great!  Had an excellent season and I think the kids did as well.  Everything on the Wakeman side was top notch, from your organization and leadership, to the refereeing, to the general cooperation between coaches.  The only negative I can think of was having to practive over at Fairfield High, where there were rarely goals available to us.  Not a big deal.

The coaches game was a lot of fun as was the party afterwards.  Nice sense of comraderie and a great way to build/maintain the program.  Likewise with the award ceremony -- a well orchestrated evening that meant a lot to the award recipients.

Already looking forward to next year!

House teams are as good as travel teams -- Anonymous Parent
"I am probably more conservative than most, but I think the most important lax skills to be learned/taught at this age (4,5,6th,etc.) are the ones that your house program emphasizes.  Teamwork, passing, and good sportsmanship can get left out of/de-emphasized at the travel level -- where winning can take precedence over all else, and come at the expense of both the children and the game itself.   Not to say that I haven't been happy with my son's travel experience there -- he is so proud to be part of the Wakeman team and LAX program.  But it is important to remember that this is just a game and these are only children -- they need to be taught and learn the basics, with lots of room for growth, mistakes, practice and support.  That is Wakeman's strength, and the strength of your house program."

"Our 4th and 6th grade sons love LAX at Wakeman and have played house leagues for a few years. Nick did not make the 5/6 travel team, but hopes to make the 7/8 grade travel team. Willy is playing house and Bantam this year. We expect it will be very difficult for him to make the 5/6 travel team next year. Having said that, we think you and Wakeman do an amazing job on LAX and Basketball.  Wakeman has been a large part of the life of our 3 boys. Your philosophy of making the program available to as many boys as possible -- seems right on to us.

Thanks so much for all you do -- this town is so fortunate to have Wakeman."  - Deirdre Daly.

My son played on the boys 5-6 travel team this year and I just wanted to let you know what a positive experience it was for him in every aspect. I have to thank and commend each of the coaches: Terry Howard, Mike Vouchas and Ed Boardman.Tthey made a huge commitment to these kids, and in my opinion, motivated them to success. While the schedule of games and practices was extensive, it was all he could talk about for three months. Not only was it a positive experience for my son but it was also one for my wife and I. The other parents and kids on the team were great people. They made us want to go to each game and be supportive as possible.  Thanks again.

Just wanted you to know how much Matt has enjoyed the house and "extra" lax program this year!  The pace of two practices & two game days has been just right for him, since he really enjoys the game.  Jim and I like the emphasis on fun first, then skills, then competition.  I can't say enough about all of his coaches - Jeff Ihm, Chris Ghee and Mark Errat.  Matt is learning about good sportsmanship in the best way (while having fun!)  He also practices in our yard for about an hour a day.  Since there are so many good players that will be in 5th grade next year, is it possible to have a separate 5th grade travel team, or do the "extra lax" again just like this year?  We would like a repeat of this year's program for Matt for next year if possible...

Thanks for everything you do for these kids!!!!
