BGCA’s Day for Kids Wakeman Boys & Girls Club will be celebrating
BGCA’s Day for Kids on Saturday September 20, 2008 from 12:00pm-4:00pm on the
turf field. Activities will include a dunk tank, moon bounce, a
caricaturist, DJ, face painting, relay races, Triple Play activities, a snack
bar, cotton candy and more. Members and non-members are welcome! We will be
including the lacrosse activities/stations at Lax Jam into our Day for Kids.
Please come and join us for a fun-filled day and help celebrate BGCA’s

begin at 9:00am. 2 Mile Run at 9:30am, 5k at 10:00am.
FALL INTO WAKEMAN Saturday, October 4, 2008 Wakeman will host its 3rd Annual Fall Into Wakeman Dinner Party Fundraiser. The Fall into Wakeman Committee is looking for volunteers to host dinner parties at their house. Hosts open their home to Wakeman families and friends for a night of food, fun, and entertainment. Guests are asked to make a donation to the Club which will benefit the Club’s programming initiatives. Anyone interested in hosting or co-hosting a dinner party should contact Clare Mahoney at 259-4805 or clare@wakemanclub.com
PEQUOT RUNNERS THANKSGIVING DAY ROAD RACE November 27, 2008 at Wakeman 5 miles: 8:15am start Registration forms will be available at the Club in the beginning of October. Wakeman does not administer this race. Please call the number on the brochure.
CALLING ALL ALUMNI! Too Tired of Turkey Alumni Event Saturday, November 29th, 2008 Remember the nights of
playing basketball in the Red Baker Gym or spending time shooting pool in the
gameroom? If you a former member of the Club, we would love to hear from you!
Wakeman will host an alumni event on Saturday, November 29th for Alumni club
members and we would love to include you. The night will consist of an informal
tailgate starting at 6:30 here at the

ANNUAL CELEBRITY BREAKFAST CHRISTMAS TOY COLLECTION Show your holiday spirit! The Keystone Club will be collecting toys for children at the McGivney Center in Bridgeport and the Stratford Southend Community Center. Please take an ornament off the Christmas Tree (available in the lobby throughout December). The ornament you choose will identify the age and gender of a child needing a present. Simply drop off your unwrapped donation to Wakeman by Thursday, December 18th. Thank you very much for your generosity.
FINE ARTS EXHIBIT January 12th - January 16th | Preview Party - January 9th Any member in grades
3rd-12th is encouraged to participate. No limit to the number of entries that
may be submitted. Any artwork created at home, school or the Club in 2007/2008
will be accepted. All entries must be received by January 6th.
THE
BIG DANCE Come celebrate March Madness at the "Big Dance." Join us at Wakeman for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a little dancing. We’ll have some great raffle items, silent and LIVE auction items. The evening will be filled with fun and excitement. Invitations will be mailed after the first of the year. So mark your calendar and join us for this important fundraiser! In the months to come
you will have many opportunities to lend your support to the Big Dance. One
great way is to consider placing a business advertisement or personal message in
our commemorative journal. This journal will serve as a memorable keepsake of
the evening and will be distributed to 400+ guests. In addition, the journal
will be made available to all of our 2,500 member families. Your ad will be seen
by everyone. If you would like to be a part of "The Big Dance"
committee or donate a raffle or auction item, advertise in the journal/and
